MUSIC OF CHANGES 2007

For the third time already, the new season of the Klaipėda Concert Hall starts with the festival Permainų muzika / Music of Changes. The festival will take place from September 15th until October 24th.

Multimedia dance project Time Line
Incorporating digital visuals, laser projections and the flowing movements of Kaunas Dance Theatre Aura dancers, the project explores the invisible relationships between space, energy, matter and time. Choreographers - Yossi Berg and Oded Graf (Israel), and the artistic director of Aura Birutė Letukaitė. The author of concept, music and video - Vytautas V. Jurgutis.

Tribute to John Cage...
According to John Cage, “everything is music (or vice versa)”. Listeners will be invited into the extraordinary world of John Cage, where boundaries between music and non-music disappear.

...and homage to Jeronimas Kačinskas

The concert dedicated to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Jeronimas Kačinskas, one of the most forward thinking Lithuanian modernists of the interwar period.

Intellectual and imaginative percussion by Vladimir Tarasov
It is hard to describe creative activities of Vladimir Tarasov. He is somewhere in-between free jazz and sound art, also working in the field of visual arts. During the festival Vladimir Tarasov will introduce his video and sound installation The First River, inspired by Dante’s The Divine Comedy. He will also play a solo drum programme Atto XII.

Mike Svoboda and Stefan Hussong: on the Midstream
An impressive return of Mike Svoboda to Klaipėda after 12 years, with an intriguing programme of music by John Cage, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Luciano Berio, Giacinto Scelsi, Adriana Hölszky, Keiko Harada, Astor Piazzolla, and Mike Svoboda himself.

Neue Vokalsolisten Stuttgart
An innovative vocal ensemble, exploring new sounds and vocal techniques. Elements of theatre play an important role in their performances, as well as interdisciplinary work with electronics and video art. The Neue Vokalsolisten Stuttgart collaborate a lot with composers, presenting about 20 premieres of new works every year.
