A new collection of Lithuanian piano music features eleven pieces by thirteen Lithuanian composers representing all generations and a spectrum of creative styles and concepts. Both volumes include the most original and popular Lithuanian piano repertoire alongside with several more recent, less known opuses.
The Lithuanian concert repertoire is chiefly associated with the pieces like Fate by Julius Andrejevas or Le poème du coeur by Vytautas Barkauskas. Rain of Golden Clouds and Mists by Vidmantas Bartulis, as well as the evocative The Pool of Siloam by Algirdas Martinaitis are the works of choice of the performers searching for an original and exclusive piano repertoire. The first volume includes works composed before 1990, while the second is comprised of compositions written over the last fifteen years. This new two-volume publication of the most illustrious and vibrant piano opuses by Lithuanian composers is a must for those who are looking for less known and less worn additions to their repertoire.
