Rasa Serra

A professional singer from Klaipėda (a harbour city of Western Lithuania), Rasa Serra possesses an exceptional voice and an amazing versatility in terms of style. She collaborates with several groups and appears in jazz clubs and festivals. Having studied jazz as her main subject, she does not eschew performing folk songs. She has contributed to the Donis' album of Lithuanian historic and war songs, Bite lingo, that became one of the most significant new music events in 2006. She has also recorded some archaic songs for the legendary techno group from Klaipėda, Exem. Her forthcoming solo release will include a selection of authentic folk songs from Dzūkija (South Eastern region of Lithuania), which the singer intends to dedicate to Lithuanian émigrés.
