Pianist, composer, producer and teacher, Egidijus Buožis develops the mainstream tradition and combines the elements of early piano styles with the expression of modern jazz. In terms of harmonic idiom and aesthetics, his compositions reveal the influence of academic music. He began his concert career as a classical pianist, appearing in recitals and as a soloist with symphony and chamber orchestras. Now he specialises in jazz and appears both solo and with his quartet, performing his original compositions. For several years he has played a series of spontaneous improvisations in duo settings.
