Anton Lukoszevieze, one of the most ingenious British performers of contemporary music, will perform three new works for cello and live electronics by Lithuanian composers, Egidija Medekšaitė, Justė Janulytė and Ričardas Kabelis, at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, on 29 November. It is already the third project of Anton Lukoszevieze in this festival, featuring new Lithuanian music. In the previous years, he has presented the work of his favourite composer, Rytis Mažulis, at the Huddersfield Festival.
The program of the festival also includes a meeting with Justė Janulytė and Anton Lukoszevieze (on 29 November, 10 a.m.). They will talk about the art of sound illusion in the work of Lithuanian composers, and the relevant issues of musical language, interpretation and reception of music.
The venue of the concert: St Paul's Hall, Queensgate, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.
The project is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania and the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in the UK.
