A devotee of Scandinavian melancholy-drenched pop, Edgaras Lubys is a Lithuanian singer-songwriter with a special voice and mellow songs melting the hearts of even the most skeptical audiences. The music? Think a mixture of Reamonn, a-ha and Kings Of Convenience, although Amberlife says he's still searching for that unique sound. After gaining a lot of public interest with his first single My Way (2003), Amberlife (that's the stage name Edgaras used for the biggest part of this ongoing career) set his sights on a bigger picture. Declaring his ambition to reach wider audiences, he recorded his smash In Your Eyes, employing the talents of Swedish producers, shot a video in Stockholm and participated in the country‘s Karlshamn Song festival. In 2004 his name became well-known in Latvia, where his collaboration with local female star Ladybird My Lover's Gone topped the charts for several weeks. Having shared the stage with the likes of Nazareth, Chumbawamba and Roxette, Amberlife to date has released 6 albums and EP's– including internet-only release Live At Home (2010) which is precisely what it says on the tin, an intimate live recording of old favourites and new tracks. A full-length Missing.lt (a collaboration with campaigners dealing with search for missing people) was released in 2011, signalling the end of Amberlife era – the singer felt a new career chapter is due and retired his pseudonym. He came back in 2013 with an intriguing project called Feral. Formed with renowned Swedish sound engineer Stefan Boman, the debut EP showcased electronic influence. In 2014 Edgaras chose to use his real name for his recordings and performances – with a new album of songs recorded in Lithuanian scheduled for autumn release.
