The Strange Folklore Group, to translate their name into English, gives a tender touch to authentic Lithuanian folk songs, employing a multitude of Lithuanian traditional as well as Oriental instruments. During its history the group has recorded 6 albums. Mostly, it performs in small, intimate settings and at special occasions. It is the most natural environment for their music, and allows the listeners to experience a magic of those pensive and joyful songs, to dive into bright melodies and pure voices, to admire the subtletly of the texts, their plaintive lyricism, clever humour and existential wisdom of folklore. This “otherworldly” experience is something The Strange Folklore Group is famous for.
