Not many singers can claim to be successful in both pop and classical fields and still have time for a fruitful TV presenting career. Deivis is one of them. This young and gifted singer and composer has a choir conducting diploma, has recorded successful albums, sang in many musical theatre performances and is a real chameleon when it comes to image. It all started for Deivis in 1995, when he was doing rounds in alternative clubs as a leader of band Liūdesio gėlės (Flowers Of Sadness).Changing direction, Deivis set his sights on dance-oriented pop for a while, recording three albums and building a reputation as a charismatic live performer (he won Best male artist Radiocentras award in 2002). Thirsty for changes, Deivis concentrated his attention on opera and musicals in 2003 but didn't forget pop music completely, somehow managing to combine the two careers. So did his collaboration with well-known Lithuanian opera singer Eduardas Kaniava – what started as a fun project developed into full length albums and a successful tour. A constant participant of high profile TV shows, pop and classical concerts, Deivis is currently concentrating on his first full music for theatre piece – whether it will be a musical or something more extravagant remains to be seen. That, however, didn't stop him from releasing Lietuva (Lithuania), a 2010 album which is perhaps his most provoking work to date – a shocking cover image, rock riffs and lyrics full of ironic post-recession social commentary show that after 15 years in showbiz, Deivis is still difficult to pigeon-hole.
