The title of a song by Cocteau Twins – Lazy Calm – can be used to describe the music of Dumaz. These are essentially morning sounds, bringing to mind images of idyllic landscapes wrapped up in light fog and resounding with birds’ twittering. Laidback, chilled out beats are delicately immersed in dreamy echoing layers, creating an impression of weightlessness and tranquility. Not incidentally Skelo, one of the two members of Dumaz, says that the music they produce is ideal for drinking tea early in the morning after a really fiery party. The self-titled debut album of Dumaz was released by the new Bomba Lounge imprint (managed by Skelo himself), established as a division of the Lithuanian major label Bomba Records in Fall 2006 and dedicated to publishing the highlights of Lithuanian electronica.
