Marijus Mikutavičius is a Lithuanian definition of ‘household name’. Enjoying parallel careers as a singer and popular TV host, he's been around for more than 10 years. His first claim to fame was singing in rock band Bovy – rock'n'roll crazy bunch who have toured Scandinavia, Germany, other countries, earned his ‘best singer’ award in Latvian Liepaja dzintars festival in 1995. His first solo album Pasveikinkit vieni kitus (2004) was a smash, breaking Lithuanian sales records and earning Marijus singer of the year and albumo of the year Bravo awards. Trys milijonai, a wildly popular special anthem written and sung by Marijus for the occasion of Lithuania's participation in the Olympic games of 2000, is still one of the most popular Lithuanian radio singles. Known for his energy, sense of humour and friendliness, Marijus is a favourite of concert promoters as well – he played roles in huge stage versions of Lithuanian rock operas Velnio nuotaka, Meilė ir mirtis Veronoje and Jūratė ir Kastytis. 2006 brought new challenges and heights – Marijus became a member of Lithuanian ‘all star band’ LT United which won the 6th place in Eurovision song contest.
