A synonim for blues in Lithuania, The Road Band has been charming audiences since 1992. Formed by rock'n'roll and blues afficionado Aleksandr Belkin, the band has played more than a thousand gigs, released nine albums and is considered one of the leaders of Baltic blues scene. All members of the band are experienced professionals with session work credits that include Lithuanian stars Arina, Neda, Egidijus Sipavičius, Gytis Paškevičius and many others. The Road Band keep their original material and renditions of blues/rock'n'roll classics on the road all the time - aside from playing every significant blues festival in Lithuania, the band has successfully performed in Poland, Estonia, Ukraine, Russia, Belarus. In 2003, Aleksandras received honorary Golden String award from Bliuzo naktys - Lithuania's main annual blues event. He has also written a book on jazz history. The Road Band's international collaborations include gigs with American musicians Paul Belanger, Sue DaBaco, Chip Jordan, John Studebaker. In 2006, the band performed as a support act during the Lithuanian gig of blues legend Buddy Guy.
