Rugiaveidė

Rugiaveidė is the stage name of the folk singer and archaeologist Daiva Urbanavičiūtė-Steponavičienė (Eng. - Lyme Grass), which refers to grass growing through the stone. The musical-poetic tradition preserved throughout centuries blossoms in her music like a tenacious plant breaking through the paving in the city. During the ten years of her musical career, Rugiaveidė has recorded several successful albums where her gentle voice is wrapped in contemporary pop arrangements. The singer's most recent project, Kalėdų rytą saulė pražydo (The Sun Came into Bloom on Christmas Morning, 2006), is the album of winter holiday songs recorded with the group she founded in 1994, Sedula.
