Programme note
Interludium for flute, cello and organ (1983) was composed for the 7th Vilnius Festival of Organ Music. Here I regarded the organ as the instrument of ritual and worship, the symbol of serenity and contemplation. The somewhat static sound of organ and more dynamic timbres of flute and cello adding warmth to it, all intertwine in the continuous prayer which was originally intended to resound under the domes of the Vilnius Cathedral.
