Riot

Biography

Riot is a fabulous quintet of young Lithuanian jazz musicians who have been seen among the most active and coveted jazz performers in the past few years. The consolidating force behind the group's members is not only their young age, but also a considerable scenic experience, which makes them one of the most technically and artistically accomplished jazz groups in Lithuania. Working with utmost dedication over the past couple of years, they managed to achieve a place among the most acclaimed Lithuanian jazz acts.

Potent and ambitious, they do not seek technical mastery as their ultimate goal; they have something to deliver and have guts to do it. They express their values and attitudes through original compositions rich in free improvisation, intellectual reflection and inner tension. According to the group's members, Riot (as their motto and music itself) is a revolt against "the domination of present-day pop culture and global commercialism over art and morals."
